I have been to HIP – The first face-to-face fair of 2021, at IFEMA

The fifth edition of HIP opened its doors in March, after more than a year without trade fair activity at IFEMA, where more than 300 brands and 400 experts joined the Spanish Hospitality Support Plan with grants, promotions, training and various activities.

You could feel the collective emotion, the joy of re-encounter, the fighting spirit of all those who were there, the feeling of recovering a bit of what our lives used to be, the desire to generate relationships, to see each other, to talk … but everything under the cloak of that prudence represented in masks and social distance.

Both the organization, the venue, and the attendees, turned to make HIP a safe event, respecting all anti-covid measures and complying with the Business Safe health protocols that have gone beyond those recommended by the authorities.

The great expectation and illusion of being able to see and hear, within the Hospitality 4.0 Congress, experts such as Ferrán Adrià, Paco Pérez, Kike Sarasola or María Jesús García, among many others, was also palpable in the atmosphere.

After these 3 intense days, at Barter we are proud of the hospitality sector, a sector that, like the events sector, differences aside, has shown resilience and a capability for continuous adaptation. A sector for which digitization, innovation, adaptation, reinvention and Covid-19 prevention measures have played a key role.

NEBEXT – Next Business Exhibitions entrusted us as the Technical Office for the coordination of the conference program, management of speakers and Community entities, as well as the management of the finalists in the “Horeca New Business Model Awards” ceremony.

At the Onsite, in this edition more than ever, the importance of work and collaboration between teams has been highlighted: from audiovisual technicians, through hostesses and ending with cleaning teams (and not precisely in this order). The coordination, collaboration and commitment of all of us who were part of the “invisible” team of the events, has made HIP a safe and also exciting event.

And, like the claim of this edition of HIP – HOSPITALITY INNOVATION PLANET, the true value is achieved through… WORKING TOGETHER.

At Barter, we continue to do what we do best and what we are most passionate about: organizing quality events, positive networking, both face-to-face, in hybrid and online format … what really matters is people!
